FatCow.com Web Hosting Review - Why they're good
FatCow.com... why they're good.
One Touch Installs - One touch installs are in my opinion the most important factor in a hosting plan. The cost of paying a coder to do the install of an off the shelf software can cost up to 3 years worth of hosting. One touch installs can pay for themselves immediately. Shopping carts, Joomla, Drupal, Mambo and Wordpress are all included with your fatcow.com hosting account.
Low Pricing - Of course FatCow hosting has some extremely low pricing. There is a point where pricing gets so low that it doesn't matter. This is where FatCow's pricing is.
Store and Shopping Cart Tools - For selling online there are a few things that can cause you problems for the rest of your life. SSL certificates, Paypal integration and shopping cart integration are all painful things that FatCow makes easy. After struggling with these items on dedicated servers for years, I will never go back. Shared hosting is just too easy and too cheap.
Downtime? - All hosting companies reserve the right to have downtime. The question is whether or not you notice it. It can be a few minutes per month only or it can be like previous hosting companies that I have used that were down for hours at a time every week. With the many advancements in backup procedures and software, downtime is really a thing of the past. Almost all legitimate hosting companies will have unnoticeable downtime.
Alternatives? - If for some reason FatCow.com just doesn't work for you then there are some great alternatives that have even more to offer but the pricing is not quite as low. I have personally used other hosting companies such as Dreamhost and GoDaddy virtual dedicated servers.
